Tonight in class we talked about our PLN. building a PLN is a lot of work. I am loving building my PLN, but it does keep some upkeep. I don't to overwhelm myself. I sometimes feel really scatter brained when I am building my PLN, but I know that what I put into it, I will get out of it.
We also talked about Pintrest. I love Pintrest and I would love to get my fourth grade team on board with this for a collaboration tool like Lindsey mentioned in class. I know that 3 out of 4 team members of mine have Pintrest, but they, like me, use it for personal use. It would be super easy to make a school collobo board and pin projects and ideas, and just follow that board. I am going to propose this to my team tomorrow.
We also talked about Twitter, which I love. I really liked how explicit Bobbie was in class tonight, and she went slow. I have had time to play on Twitter and really get to know the app, but she really solidified how to use the app, and reassured me that I was doing it right. I also like Tweet Deck, this is a great way to organize, because I love things to be nice and orderly.
We talked about Flipboard. Honestly, this is not my favorite app ever. I liked the tutorial in class, and will share about how to use it if someone asks me, but it is not my preferred. I do like how you can link your social media sites to it, which is great.
We also set up out gmail accounts that we already had through the district that we all had no idea about. This will be something fun to use with Amanda, who is at my school, and in this class. I am also going to try and get my team on board with this, but at this point in class, it is all getting overwhelming!
We also checked out feedly. This allows you to follow blogs. I will have to check out feedly when I have more time to follow blogs. We also learned about subtext. Saved it to our bookmark bar, and we downloaded the app on our ipad. We will also be posting in subtext, I have to remember that I need to read the 2 articles, and reply or question 2 times per articles. Good information tonight! Thanks ladies!
