Pixlr, Photo Editing:
This is an app that is online on the computer. You can edit photos and change effects. This is a simple app that can be used with your class, maybe about me photos, or STAR student photos. Students could add their own effects, and make it thiers. This is really fun to use. There are 3 different levels, playful, efficient, and advanced. The advanced is the closest to Photshop. This would be fun to play with when editing photos. We also looked at Picmonkey and fotoflexer. Both are online editing apps as well. Photoshop is still my favorite, because I am familiar with it, but all three of these would be fun to do with students.
GarageBand:
This is such a fun program to use. I really like the idea of adding in music and editing out swear words, or anything you dont want in the song. I have just been given an assignment to upload a karaoke version of a song, which my principals have re-written the words to, and make a new song for them for their opening PD with their teachers. GarageBand is a great program to edit music. I am excited to do this small project with the principal, so hopefully it works out.
Digital Story:
We watched a digital story about the holocaust. We alos talked about the elements of a digital story. After this we were given time to start writing our digital stories. I was able to put together my story board, write my script, make my digital story in iMovie, and record my voice for the story. I am glad that I story boarded this story before I wrote my script and put together my iMovie. I can see how beneficial this process is.
